DTN COMMENTS:   The country is very quiet this afternoon with bids and 
asking prices still not established. Significant trade volume will likely 
be delayed until Thursday and/or Friday. 

Today's slaughter totaled 113,000 head, 3,000 less than last week, and 
5,000 below a year ago. Live cattle futures closed mixed up 37 to off 27.
While feeder issues also ended the day mixed, but mostly higher, up 42 to 
off 40. Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed with light to moderate 
box movement.
